We had a great meeting with Samaritans purse last night- these are the two guys whom I have been working with on food tickets from WFP. They have internally decided to veer from surge distro of food (cause they were getting killed on distros- violence, fighting) and they will now be running the cash for work and work for food, nutritinal feeding, primary care programs for our area. It just so happens that our guy Allister is a WFP rep to the board in Rome (or rather the SP rep to the WFP in Rome) and he has been leading this new charge to "think outside the box" about the invigoration of the economic sector, and alternatives to surge food distro in cite soleil-
Boby and I laid out a ten point strategy to get the people of cite soleil working again and bottomlined how LADH and the two camps can be the centerpiece for these efforts.
I think Allister is really excited about the prospect of using LADH(and by extension our pilot project) as a lab-
He was most intrigued by the acitivities of jean Christophe's Universite program; composting, humanure, plastic tile and cardboard briquettes.
He says that he is relatively beuracracy-free on this experimental round, and expects that we pitch ideas at him freely with a loose budget and and the resources we need and all we need to furnish is a simple one page request-
We also will receive tickets for food for each of the next three (final 3 for all time) distros on mon, tues, wed for the aforementioned families whom we feel are most in need.
